Travis Lou Upshaw
Travis Lou Upshaw of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Lou and Olgia Averitt Upshaw in Shawnee, Oklahoma on December 27, 1933 and entered eternal life January 31, 2020 at his residence in Elmore City at the age of 86 years.

He grew up in County Line and attended school at Velma-Alma. He joined the Army in 1950 at the age of 17. Upon returning, he worked in the oilfields around Ratliff City.

He and Earlene Clemons married on December 21, 1966 in Gainesville, Texas. They made their home in Ratliff City and Pooleville before moving to Elmore in 1980.

Travis worked in the oilfield most of his adult life, working as a rig operator and later driving a truck. His hobbies included watching his grandkids and enjoying old westerns and ballgames. Travis was an avid reader and read Louis L'Amour westerns for many years.

Travis is survived by his wife, Earlene of the home; sons - Travis Upshaw Jr. and wife Stephanie, Don Thompson and wife Kathy, all of Elmore City, and Larry Upshaw and wife Julie of Oklahoma City; daughters - Linda Davis and husband Tony, Donna McFadden and husband Danny, and Tammy Thompson, all of Elmore City; sister, Jane Looper of Oklahoma City; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

Travis is preceded in death by brother, Leonard Upshaw; granddaughters, Taylor Spencer and Trinity Owens; and son, Kenny Thompson, and parents.

A graveside funeral service was at Pooleville Cemetery on Tuesday, February 4 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clyde Quick officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. You may send condolences to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
