Pauls Valley, Oklahoma - Teresa Begley

Teresa Begley—known affectionately as Nani, Mom, Mrs. Begley, and so many other names of love—passed away surrounded by family and deep affection in Norman, Oklahoma early in the morning on August 25th 2025. Born Teresa Rodriguez on Christmas Day in 1938 in Weslaco, Texas, Teresa's life was one long testament to kindness, generosity, and the belief that no one should ever feel unloved. A memorial service will be held at her beloved church, First Christian Church in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, October 11th 2025 at 10am.

A lifelong educator, Teresa touched countless lives in classrooms and communities across the country and beyond. Somehow, no matter where she traveled, there always seemed to be someone who recognized her—someone whose life had been made better by her patience, warmth, or gentle guidance. She never said no to taking another "adopted grandchild" under her wing, and her home and heart were always open.

Teresa's legacy is one of love in action. She gave selflessly, taught passionately, and lived joyfully. Her life was rich with adventure and purpose—from teaching young minds to traveling the world—and she made the most of every moment she was given.

To her family, she was a constant pillar of strength, support, and encouragement. She worked tirelessly to help those around her succeed, often giving everything she had to ensure others were cared for. She faced adversity with grace and optimism, and through it all remained one of the most loving souls imaginable. Her influence continues through the lessons she taught, the compassion she modeled, and the deep, unwavering love she gave.

She is survived by countless family and loved ones, including the many students, friends, and "chosen family" whose lives she forever changed.
