Ronald Boyd Skaggs Obituary

Paul's Valley, Oklahoma - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our father, Ronald Boyd Skaggs on December 19, 2024, at the age of 71.

Born on June 8, 1953, in Modesto, California, Ron's vibrant life has left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known him. Ron graduated from Modesto High School in 1973 followed by attendance at Modesto Junior College. In 1981 while managing The Pizza Machine in Stockton, CA, he met the love of his life, Jan Ford, and they soon married.

Ron was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family, he worked tirelessly to ensure their needs were met and to give them the life he felt they deserved. He dedicated many years to a long career with Clark Pest Control in Stockton, CA, and later in San Diego County.

His final years were spent in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma, where he was pursuing a lifelong dream of returning to his parent's childhood home and researching the family's ancestral Chickasaw heritage, of which he was so proud.

Every challenge in life was faced with admirable strength and courage. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there for us, whether we needed help with a project or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strong faith and he taught us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right.

Dad loved to regale us with childhood stories about mischief and his youthful athletic prowess. He was passionate about architecture, skilled with a hammer, and could master just about any construction, electrical, or technical project. We all enjoy fond memories of the many home renovations and building projects that were constantly afoot.

Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. He looked forward to the time he would stand before his Lord and Savior and is surely now at peace.

Ron joins his mother and father, Boyd and Wanda Skaggs, sister Kim Wolfe, and brother Carl Skaggs in Heaven. He is survived by his children: Joseph Tumbarello, Gary Schwinden, (Raeanne Schwinden), Christina Skaggs, Elizabeth Ferguson, (Koby Ferguson), Michael Skaggs. He is also survived by grandchildren Tyler & Emma Schwinden, Keenan & Kyra Tumbarello, Thomas & John Urban, and Stetson, Waylon & Beau Ferguson. Finally, he was survived by 5 siblings, David, Beth, Shelby, & Mary, and numerous nieces & nephews.

We hope that Ron's spirit, strength, and legacy will continue to inspire those he left behind. We mourn his loss but celebrate his life, knowing he lived it to the fullest and his memory will be held dear in our hearts forever.
