Michael Dean Wilkins of Wynnewood passed away December 24, 2022 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

Michael was born July 29, 1943 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Juanita (Campbell) and Calvin Lee Wilkins Sr. He was raised in this area and has made his home here almost all his life.

After graduating from Pauls Valley High School, he furthered his education by attending Okmulgee Technology School and graduated with an associate degree in diesel mechanics.

He is a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969.

He owned Wilkins Welding in the Walker community where he did contract welding and built cattle scales, as well as worked as a mechanic at Uniroyal in Ardmore for 17 years. Later in his career he drove a truck, hauling rock and cattle, as well as helping his son farm. He really enjoyed operating the dozer on the farm, which he regularly broke.

Mike was a jack of all trades, and always willing to help family and friends.

He and Linda J. Smith were married in the Walker Baptist Church on June 12, 1964, and was a member of Walker Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Calvin Lee Wilkins Sr.; an uncle, Floyd Campbell; and aunt, Fern Ensey.

His surviving family include his wife of over 58 years, Linda of the home; daughter, Dena Son and husband Roger of Stratford; sons Michael Lynn Wilkins and partner Darrel Thomason of Wynnewood, Kevin Wilkins and wife Jayme of Lindsay, and Darin Wilkins and wife Jennifer of Wynnewood; sisters Rebecca Smith of Pauls Valley, and Dolores Shrader of Lexington; brother, Calvin L. Wilkins Jr. of Texas; nine grandchildren - Tyler (Caitlen), Lorin (Ethan), Lindsey, Montanna, Jimmy (Autumn), Madison, Jackson, Kyle and Zayden; one great grandson, Macoy, and two more great grandsons on the way; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Wilkins, Kevin Wilkins, Darin Wilkins, Tyler Wilkins, Jimmy Son, and Roger Son; and honorary bearers will be Jackson Wilkins and Ethan Dixon.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Dr. Joe Elam.

Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
