Meredith  Pipins
Meredith "Wayne" Pipins, aka Pops, 79-year-old rural Bluejacket resident, passed away early Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at his home.
He was born on September 7, 1940 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to John Henry and Ruth (McCurley) Pipins.
On August 11, 1970 he married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Heimer, in Childress, Texas.
Wayne worked as a welder in Texas for many years, before coming to work in the Oklahoma oil fields. He had his own pump service at one time while working the oil fields. Wayne loved to go fishing and hunting, spend time with his grandkids, work in his shop doing woodwork and welding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Roger and Larry Pipins.
The surviving family includes his wife Shirley of the home; his children Ruth Herlan and husband John of Bluejacket, and John Pipins and wife Amanda of Vinita; a brother, Phil Pipins and wife Rita of Midwest City; a sister, Sharon Caywood and husband Mike of Freedom; four grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita.
The celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley. Interment will follow at the Antioch Cemetery.
