Mary Ellen Ott of Paoli passed away December 3, 2022 in Paoli, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years.

Mary Ellen Morris was born June 28, 1948 in Sheridan, Montana to Arthur and Evelyn (Stiffarm) Morris. Mary was raised in California. For a time, she lived in Oklahoma City and in 1978 she moved to make her home in Paoli.

After attending barber school in Oklahoma City in the late '80s she competed in and won the State Barber Champion title for Oklahoma after competing in Chicago, IL. As a licensed barber she worked in Pauls Valley at Roady & Co., and went on to open her own shop in Paoli.

Mary then attended the University of Oklahoma where she majored in history with a minor in Native American studies - upon graduation in 1986 she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Mary attended St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

She was blessed with one son and five daughters.

Her surviving family include her five daughters - Sheri Turner and husband Kevin Maloy, Michelle and Lance Blair, Jennifer and Shawn Whatley, Becca and D.J. Patton, and Erica Chadwick; grandchildren William, Joshua, Jacob, Lauren, Justin, Phoebe, Noah, Reg, Kaia, Leon, Mary, Ella and Emmy; great grandchildren Brantley, Katy, Jaylee, Ryan and Kaysen; three sisters - Roberta Carney, Lora Hadfield, Catherine Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and her beloved son R.C.

Her pallbearers will be Joshua Turner, Justin Fulks, Jacob Turner, Noah Whatley, Reg Patton, and Brantley Fulks; and honorary pallbearer William Turner.

A Rosary Prayer Service will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.

A Mass will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Noon at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Nerio Espinoza.
