Jerry  Bland
Jerry Bland of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Virgil Wesley and Martha Pauline (Leightner) Bland on December 8, 1946 in Lawton, Oklahoma and passed from this life on October 14, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years.
Jerry grew up and attended school in Indiahoma. He then attended Oklahoma State University where he obtained his master's degree in agriculture.
On May 25, 1977, Jerry married his wife Jane in Vernon, Texas. He owned and operated Jerry's Home Furniture. Jerry was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking out, NASCAR racing, college football, fishing, horse racing, and loved telling "tall tales." The highlights of his life were his family and close friends.
Mr. Bland is survived by his sons - Jerry Kevin Bland McKinney and Laura of Sunnyvale, Texas, Mark Green and Brenda of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Ryan Bland of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Joe Bland of Niceville, Florida; daughters - Jeri Bland Hurt (Shelly) and Jamie of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and June Meyers and Steven of Del City, Oklahoma; sister, Joann Messick of Indiahoma, Oklahoma; grandchildren - Dalton and Jackson, Bo, Jonathen, and Tripp, Reagan and Riley, Tammy and Kyle, Alexis, CJ, Kilee, Desiree, Faith and Ella, Collin, Camran, and Caleb, Kenzie, Colton, and Josh, Hadley and Aspen, and Henry.
Mr. Bland was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Bland on December 14, 2004; parents, Virgil and Martha Bland; sister, Shirley June Bland; and grandchildren, Tara and Codie.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with John Straughn officiating.
