dallas, Texas - Janice Lynn Nash of Dallas passed away April 26, 2023 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 74 years.

Janice Lynn Hays was born September 4, 1948 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Herbert B. Hays Sr. and Ruth Josephine (Rice) Hays.

She lived in Pauls Valley in her younger years, spent her teenage years in Altus, graduated high school in Norman, Okla., and has made the Dallas, Texas area home most of her life.

She and John V. Nash were married in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 17, 1966. She worked as an escrow agent in real estate law for 45 years. After retirement she continued her passion for gardening by becoming a master gardener.

Janice was preceded in death by parents Herbert and Ruth Hays, as well as her husband, John Nash.

Her surviving family include her one son, Jeff Nash of Aiea, Hawaii; brother, Brad Hays and wife Laura, of Indianapolis; niece, Jennifer Woods of Indianapolis; two nephews, Gregory Hays and family of Charlottesville, Va., and Graham Hays of Indianapolis, Ind.; three grand nieces; one cousin, Laurel Clark and her family of League City, Texas; her partner of 30 years, Lance Metcalf of Dallas, Texas, his son Donald Metcalf and family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.

Graveside funeral services will be on held Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Interment will be under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
