Billie McKay Vaughn
Billie McKay Cochran Vaughn, "Kay," 80, of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed away on December 27, 2019 at her ranch with her family by her side.
Kay was born to Lena and William Cochran in Atlanta, Texas on July 25, 1939. She was the football queen and graduated from Atlanta High School in 1957. She attended the University of Oklahoma, was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and graduated with a BA in Business in 1961.
After college Kay lived in Houston, Texas where she taught and had two children. After around 15 years of the city life Kay moved to the family ranch in Wallville, Oklahoma in 1987 where she remained.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bob Blackwood, whom passed just a short two months prior.
Her passing has left a hole in the hearts of her sons - Kyle Vaughn, Clayton Vaughn and William Abney - step daughter Lisa Blackwood and her grandchildren Alex and Nick.
Kay's charter traits of being kind, loving and fiercely loyal brought a wealth of friends and family that she kept in close touch with over the years. She enriched the lives of all who had the honor and privilege to know her. She loved and was dedicated to her Oklahoma Sooners. Her spirit now joins Bob's, as they move on side by side and together again.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Wooster's Funeral Home in Pauls Valley followed by a gathering at Tio's Restaurant at 3:30 p.m.
The family asks that donations be made to cancer research, Shiners hospitals or the SPCA in lieu of flowers.
