Nadean F. Thrasher, 90, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at her home in Kingston. She was born on July 26, 1925 on the farm in Florence Chapel community in Garvin County, Oklahoma to the late Zack Florence and Mayme Ada Kelly Florence. Nadean was raised in Garvin County and graduated from Paoli, Oklahoma High School. She married James William Thrasher on January 13, 1945 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2011. Nadean lived in Paoli and later moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma in 1950. She moved to Alberta Creek in 1987 where she lived the rest of her life. Nadean was a member of the Lighthouse Methodist Church, Kingston, OK. She enjoyed quilting, loved gardening and her beautiful flowers, but was best known for her coconut cream pies. Her family was always her greatest joy- “MaMa” was the heart of the family and spent much of her time doting on grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Ron Thrasher and wife Coeta of Elbert, Colorado, Jo Dean Taylor and husband Bob of Norman, Oklahoma, and Laquita Stamper of Kingston, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren: Travis Taylor and wife Jaime, Stacie Walker, Crystal Reedholm and husband Bobby, Tad Lucas-Thrasher and wife Jodi, Destiny Thrasher and Beth Stamper; 10 great-grandchildren: Abby and Emma Taylor, Raleigh and Zoe Walker, Bobby, Claire, Jake and Sam Reedholm, and Brooklynn and Austin Lucas-Thrasher; sister Mayme Jo Guest of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Nadean was preceded in death by her 3 brothers - Zack, Eugene and R.C. Florence; and sisters - Opal Duke, Hazel Boren, Sue Zupan, Marguerite Thrasher, and Juanita Vawter. Services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Kingston, Oklahoma. Terry Thomas will officiate the service. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Whitebead Hill Cemetery in Whitebead, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Kingston, Oklahoma.
