Gayle Driskell of Moore, Okla., formerly of Pauls Valley, was born August 19, 1939 and departed this life August 31, 2016 at the age of 77.
She attended Peavine Elementary and Pauls Valley High School. While in high school she enjoyed working in the library and her home economics class.
She was an accomplished seamstress, she crochet and knitted and most of the things she made she gave away. She loved her family and enjoyed their visits.
Before retiring, she worked at the OU School of Journalism and in different offices with the state and Tinker Air Force Base.
She is survived by four children - Cindy Parson of Sherman, Texas, Corkey Driskell of Newcastle, Derek and Tara Driskell of Norman, and Summer Young of Newcastle; grandchildren Ethan and wife Tammri, Ski, Chase, Colin, Alya and Lexi; one brother, Don of Arizona; and seven sisters - Rita Hamilton, Marie Hilliard, Joyce Jones, Jonnie and Art Hanson, Shirley Graves, Nolah and Jack Furbee, and Joan and Bobby Litchfield.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Harve and Lillie Bonner, and two brothers, Billy and Julian.
Gayle had great compassion for handicapped and abused children, battered women and the homeless people.
A Big Thanks to Choice Hospice Services for the loving care they bestowed upon her and her caregivers at this difficult time.
Gayle will be cremated and memorial services will be held at the First Church of God in Pauls Valley on Saturday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m.
