Alluwee's Story

Alluwee "Me-Maw" Harris, age 96, of Lexington passed away Sunday April 30, 2017. Alluwee was born October 29, 1920 at home in the community of Higgins Chapel near Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to James L. Roberts and Nora Collvin Roberts.
Alluwee was one of 10 children and was raised in the Pauls Valley area where she met William "Bud" Harris. Alluwee and Bud made their home in Lexington, Oklahoma and made their living as cross-country truck drivers for more than 40 years. Alluwee enjoyed spending time with her family and playing Skip Bo.
Alluwee was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, husband, daughter Voncille Waren and great-grandson Gary "Vent" Bonner Jr.
Alluwee leaves behind one daughter, Delcine Parker, and son-in-law James Parker of Lexington, Oklahoma; one son-in-law Jim Warren of Kingston, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 43 great-great-grandchildren and six great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Lexington on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. The interment service will be held at the Lexington Cemetery.
