Windford Claud “W.C.” Johnston of Pauls Valley passed away August 17, 2016 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. W.C. was born October 29, 1930 at home to John C. and Tolline (Womack) Johnston. He worked for several years for Shawnee Milling Company and later began working in the oil field as a mechanic. He worked for Welex until they were acquired by Halliburton and continued to work with Halliburton and retired after 22 years of service. He then worked 12 years for the Pauls Valley National Bank. He was married to Betty Jean Clark in Ada, Oklahoma on May 28, 1949; they were blessed with 67 years together. W.C. was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tolline Johnston; 1 brother, Kenneth Johnston; and 2 sisters, Ruby Smith and Pat VanWorth. Surviving family include his wife, Betty of the home; three children - Jimmy Johnston and wife Betty Jean of El Reno, Claudia Ray and husband Dennis of Crosby, Texas, and Gayla McGee and husband Terry of Pauls Valley; seven grandchildren - Jamie Johnston, Jason Johnston, Derrick Ray, Holley Ray, Cassie Hernandez, Mariah Peck and Ryder Roberts; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Lou Wilson of Norman; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Pastor Joel Downing. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
