Ty's Story

Ty Robin Shelton of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Kenny Wayne and Vicki (Harris) Shelton on October 22, 1977 in Norman, Okla., and passed from this life on October 2, 2016 at his home at the age of 38 years.
Ty grew up and attended school at Elmore City, Oklahoma. Ty loved all kinds of music and enjoyed sharing his musical favorites with his friends and family. He was a talented drummer and loved going to concerts to see his favorite bands and meeting the musicians back stage. He loved watching OU Sooners play football and entertaining friends with his favorite quotes from movies. He could tell a funny story like no other! He was an avid reader and would read just about anything.
He was a big man with a big heart and often greeted others with a big hug! Ty especially loved his sugarBear, niece Shayley Mathis and nephew Ryley Mathis. Ty was always available for a friend in need and ready to listen or help in any way.
Ty is survived by his mother, Vicki Shelton of Elmore City, Oklahoma; sister, Lacey Shelton and fiancé Clay Helvey of Elmore City, Oklahoma; grandparents: V.G. "Sonny" and Opal Harris of Elmore City, Oklahoma, and Julia Shelton of Lincoln, Neb.; aunts: Donna and Joe Turner of Elmore City, Okla., Sherri Harris of Elmore City, Okla., Toya and Scott McHam of Lincoln, Neb., and Amy and Mick Gwilt of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; cousins: Culley and Aimee Turner of Elmore City, Okla., Dustin Harris and Lisa Brown of Wynnewood, Okla., and Carson Gwilt of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; nephew and niece, Ryley and Shayley Mathis; and second cousins: Braden and Chanden Turner, Mitchell and Mackenzie McHam and Areri Harris.
Ty was preceded in death by his father, Kenny Wayne Shelton; grandfather, Marvin G. Shelton; and cousin,Chanda Diona Turner.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Elmore City, Oklahoma with Rev. Kent Stewart officiating.
Interment will be in the Hennepin Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
