Tracy L. Nation of San Diego, California died May 28, 2016 at Scripps Memorial Hospital of respiratory failure. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Pauls Valley, Okla., on Wednesday, June 15 at 2 p.m. A cum laude graduate of California Western School of Law, Tracy became one of the youngest partners at Gray Cary and subsequently was a partner at Heller Ehrman, Hayes Simpson Greene LLP, and Wingert, Grebing, Brubaker & Juskie LLP until she retired. She served as a coach of Cal Western student teams, one of which placed first in alternative dispute resolution in the Western Region of the ABA’s Student Division Negotiation Competition. Tracy was a founding member of La Jolla Community Church and served on the Board of Trustees. Born in Pauls Valley, Okla., she was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and worked in petroleum land management before moving to San Diego in 1987. Tracy is survived by her father Jim Nation, her nieces Kelly and Shannon Nation and nephew Tyler Nation. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Barbara Nation Markquardt, and brother Greg Nation. The family suggests any donations be made in her name to The Children’s Tumor Foundation or Susan G. Komen.
