Thomas "Jerry"'s Story
Thomas Gerald "Jerry" Wilkerson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Thomas Newton and Audrey (Blevins) Wilkerson on November 23, 1936 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 26, 2016 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.
Jerry grew up and attended school in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He served his country in the U.S. Army and Air Force having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a crew chief in helicopters as a member of Air America which was a division of the CIA. Jerry participated in boxing in the Army and Golden Gloves.
On December 31, 2001, Jerry married Carolyn Christine McClure in Las Vegas, Nevada. He owned and operated the U.S.A. car wash and gas station in Pauls Valley and Purcell along with many other business ventures. He raised ostriches and recently started raising cattle. In his spare time he loved to travel.
Jerry also enjoyed being with his friends and at 4 o'clock every day, he was at Jerry Bland's. Jerry took great pride in his yard and koi pond which was once featured in Outdoor Oklahoma. He had a great love for God and his family.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; son, Rick Wilkerson and wife Belinda of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; daughter, Christy Reed and husband Greg of Newcastle, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren: Stephen Wilkerson and wife Julie of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Kyle Wilkerson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Madison Reed of Newcastle, Oklahoma, and Carson Reed of Newcastle, Oklahoma; and 4 great-grandchildren: MaKayla, Jace, Paityn, and Bradli Wilkerson.
Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by his daughter, Twayla Wilkerson; his parents, Thomas and Audrey Wilkerson; and a brother, Jackie Wilkerson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gerald Biswell officiating.
Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
