Shane Haskell Barnes of Mustang passed away March 9, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 43 years. Shane was born April 15, 1972 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Haskell Clark and Linda Elaine (Kelley) Barnes. He was raised in the Paoli, Pauls Valley and Wayne area. He earned his Certificate in Health and Fitness as a Certified Trainer. Shane has made his home in the Norman and Mustang area most of his life. His son, Truett, was his whole life and dearly loved his family with all his heart. In his training, he was very knowledgeable in fitness and nutrition. He was an accomplished guitarist, a musician and a song writer. With his son, Truett, he enjoyed video games, playing basketball and movies then enjoyed anything else that his son wanted to do. Shane and Truett were in the beginning phase of self-defense in the martial arts. Most of all, his faith was that of a Warrior for Jesus Christ. Within 5 minutes of meeting Shane one would be well aware of his love for his Lord and Savior. He was raised and affiliated in the Assembly of God Church. Surviving family include his son, Truett Shane Barnes, and Truett’s mother, Michelle Barnes; his parents, Clark and Linda Barnes, all of Mustang; one brother and his wife, Grant and Dawn Barnes of Noble; one sister and her husband, Tiffany and Justin Kaskaske of Yukon; five nieces and nephews - Austin Corlee, Sarah Corlee, Justin Barnes, Morgan Woolard and her husband Kirby and Justus Kaskaske; as well as one great nephew, Jaxon Woolard. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Paoli Cemetery. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery.
