Roy J Turner of Ada, Oklahoma was born to Elmer Edward and Bessie L. (Bennett) Turner on June 27, 1946 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and passed from this life on July 17, 2016 in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years. Roy grew up and attended school in Elmore City and Pernell and was a lifetime resident of the Davis, Oklahoma area. On June 27, 1974, Roy married Deborah Lewis in Davis, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2002. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Davis, Oklahoma. In his spare time he enjoyed hand carving and woodwork. Mr. Turner is survived by 2 brothers: Wiley Turner and wife Patricia of Talihina, Oklahoma, and Charles Turner and wife Sandra of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 brothers-in-law: Alonzo Wade of Elmore City, Oklahoma, and JD Kinard of Purcell, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Turner of Elmore City, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Turner; parents Elmer and Bessie Turner; 4 brothers: Albert Arley Turner, Jimmie Turner, Cecil Turner, and Lloyd Turner; and 2 sisters: Joyce Marie Wade and Mary Ann Kinard. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Elmore City Cemetery with Coen Barnes officiating. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
