Richard D. Edwards Sr. of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Carlton Glen and Dossie Jurie (Bramblett) Edwards on August 10, 1955 in Duncan, Oklahoma and passed from this life on February 28, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years.
Richard grew up and attended school in Pasadena, Texas. In 1972, Richard married Evelyn Barnes. Together they made their home in Texas and Oklahoma. He worked as a carpenter, truck driver and cabinet maker.
Richard enjoyed cooking, bbq and baking pies. The highlights of his life were his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn Edwards of the home; 2 sons - Richard Edwards Jr. and wife Candice of Elgin, Oklahoma, and Donny Edwards and wife Lela of Elmore City, Oklahoma; 4 daughters - Tina Tucker and husband Trent of Livingston, Texas, Tammy Alpha of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Karen Amberson of Onalaska, Texas, and Christie Cain of Elmore City, Oklahoma; 3 brothers - Jerry Edwards and wife Sharon of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Kenneth Edwards of Livingston, Texas, and John Edwards and wife Mary of Stinnett, Texas; 2 sisters - Carla Busby and husband David of Livingston, Texas, and Lisa Trahan and husband Andy of Stinnett, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents Carlton and Dossie Edwards, and sister, Debbie Lange.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Indian Village Assembly of God in Livingston, Texas with Rev. David Busby officiating. Interment will be in the Menard Chapel Cemetery in Segno, Texas.
