Linda's Story

Linda Michelle Gower-Philpott, 55, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2017 at her home in Maysville, Okla. Linda was born on November 15, 1961 in San Diego, California.
Linda graduated from Maysville High School in 1979 and had been a resident of the community for many years.
She attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Okla., Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla., Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Okla., and Oklahoma State University of Oklahoma City.
Linda, or "Shell" as she was known to her family, was born to the late Roy Gower and is survived by her mother, Quanah (Staley) Gower of Maysville; brother Rick Gower and wife and Donna Gower of Norman, Okla.; daughter Annalee Gilmore and husband John Gilmore of Pauls Valley, Okla.; son Jonathan Philpott and wife Lydia Philpott of Blanchard, Okla.; two granddaughters, Adriana and Alessandra Philpott of Blanchard; two nephews, Josh Gower and wife Heather Gower of Tulsa, Okla., and Jacob Gower of Norman, Okla.; two nieces, Katie Cooper and husband Luke Cooper of Mustang, Okla., and Kylie Gower of Norman, Okla.; as well as a great nephew and nieces.
Linda was a passionate believer in Christ from a young age, which carried her through the struggles she battled with her medical issues for the latter part of her adult life. Linda enjoyed most being a florist with Floral and Hardy in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church, 23720 Highway 19, Maysville, Oklahoma with Rev. Billy Davenport officiating.
Burial was at the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
Serving as pallbearers were Rick Gower, Jonathan Philpott, John Gilmore, Josh Gower, Jacob Gower, and Luke Cooper. A reception at Maysville Assembly of God Church followed the graveside service.
