Linda Faye DeWitt of Pauls Valley went to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, near Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years. Linda was born August 26, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas to J.E. and Laura Bell (Arb) Brown.
She attended high school at Beeville, Texas but moved to Casper, Wyoming in the middle of senior year and graduated from Kelly Walsh in Casper. She furthered her education by attending Casper College where she earned her degree in accounting.
On March 4, 1972, she and Calvin DeWitt were married in Casper, Wyoming. In 1994 she moved from Thermopolis, Wyoming to make her home in the Beaty community near Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Linda loved music and playing the piano she started playing for choir in sixth grade and played for the high school choir, singing groups, and has been church pianist everywhere she went. She shared her talent and love for piano by volunteering piano lessons.
She was the pianist and an active member at Beaty Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her nephew, Terry Lawhorn. and niece, Natalie (Brown) Miller.
Surviving family include her husband, Calvin DeWitt of the home; three children - Amanda Rich of Pauls Valley, Michael DeWitt and his wife Shannon of Evansville, Wyoming, and Tami DeWitt of Casper, Wyoming; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her parents, J.E. and Laura Brown of Casper, Wyoming; one sister, Anita Johnson and her husband Maynard of Byron, Wyoming; and one brother, Larry Brown and his wife Cheryl of Casper, Wyoming.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 2 at Beaty Baptist church of Pauls Valley, Okla.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
