Kathryn Crawford Tibbetts of Pauls Valley passed away February 5, 2018 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years.
Kathryn was born May 29, 1925 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Daniel McRae 'Ray' and Ida Belle (Mullins) Crawford. She grew up in Wynnewood and attended Wynnewood Schools. Kathryn is a 1943 graduate of the Wynnewood High School. She furthered her education by attending a business school in Oklahoma City.
A year later she met John C. Tibbetts and on February 16, 1945 they were married in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
She worked for over 30 years in department stores and as an apartment manager and lived in various places including Tulsa, Lawton, Texas, California, Colorado, Davis, Okla., and returned to Pauls Valley in March 1988 and has made her home in this area since. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 28 years and has many friends there.
The family wishes to send their appreciation to Lou Hall and Adrienne Grimmett for their longtime love and friendship, and to Jim and Judy Dehart and the Pauls Valley Care Center for their tender care and concern for Mrs. Tibbetts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ida Crawford; husband, John Clifford Tibbetts; and grandson, John Karl Hendrickson.
Surviving family include her 3 children - Terrie Hendrickson and husband John of Huntington Beach, California, Daniel (Buff) Tibbetts and wife Alexis of Shalimar, Florida, and Paul Tibbetts and wife Judy of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren - Anne Marie Tenorio and husband Alex, Rachel Kathryn Tibbetts, Dr. Natalie Cotter and husband Ed, and Danielle Tibbetts; and five great-grandchildren - Ian Tenorio, Aili Tenorio, Kathryn Cotter, Lyle Capone and Ryan Roberson.
Memorial services will be held graveside, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, officiated by Rev. Jim Dehart. Inurnment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Services for cremation and inurnment are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
