Josephine Boyles Wade of Pauls Valley passed away June 3, 2017 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years.
Josephine Boyles was born August 22, 1920 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Tyler "Tye" and Oney Parten Boyles.
She and Eugene Calvin Wade of Wayne, Oklahoma were married on June 9, 1934 at the young and tender age of 13 and 17 respectively. She was a loving wife, mother, grand, great-grand and great-great grandmother. She was a member of Pauls Valley New Life United Pentecostal Church and has made the Garvin County area her home all of her life.
Josephine was well known for her homemade pies, most especially her coconut cream and was dubbed, "Josephine, Queen of the Coconut Cream." She enjoyed sharing her talents of homemade pies, chicken and dumplings, and chicken and dressing for the holidays.
She was most proud of her title, "Grannie Wade." She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved the Lord and her church and often times would be heard saying, "I want to be found faithful."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tyler and Oney Boyles; her parents-in-law, George and Dovie Wade; her husband, Eugene Calvin Wade; a son, Earl Dean Wade; and four sisters: Aileen, Winnie, Dorothy and Stella.
Surviving family include her two sons and their wives: Eugene and Joyce Wade of Nixa, Missouri, and Don and Linda Wade of Stratford; two daughters: Jolene Nickell and Joan Cooper and her husband Utah, all of Pauls Valley; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Betty Wade of Pennsylvania; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many friends.
Now walking on Streets of Gold, with the Lord and her lifelong sweetheart of 72 years, Bro. Gene. Your sweet love will remain in our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance, officiated by Bro. Robert Adams and assisted by Bro. Richard Griffiths and Bro.
