John Paul Belveal Jr., 65, of Perryton, Texas died Thursday, January 25, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Perryton Church of Christ with Jimmie Burkhalter officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton, Texas.
Mr. Belveal was born on September 9, 1952 in Hugoton, Kansas to John Paul Belveal and Evelyn Pearl Bailey Belveal. He joined the U.S. Army in 1971. He served in Vietnam and Germany. His rank was sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1975.
He met and married Darla Burkhalter in 1976. They had two children, Brian and Paula. He worked in the oil field in Texas and Oklahoma. Darla passed away in 1998. He met and married Donna Ray in October of 2002 in Greeley, Colorado.
Mr. Belveal is survived by his loving wife, Donna of Perryton, Texas; one son, Brian Belveal and wife Shawndra of Lindsay, Oklahoma; one daughter, Paula Kappes of Maysville, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jack Belveal and wife Patti of Madill, Oklahoma, and Rodger Belveal and wife Suzanne of Duncan, Oklahoma; three sisters - Pamela Shuss and husband Alan of Greeley, Colorado, Laura Appleby and husband Mike, and Linda Dickey, both of Sydney, Nebraska; and four grandchildren - Dalton and Austin Kappes, and Cullie and Cade Belveal.
Mr. Belveal was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Darla Burkhalter Belveal; and a granddaughter, Sydney Kappes.
