Jim Nation of Pauls Valley passed away January 1, 2018 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years.
Jim was born July 20, 1935 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Virgil and Esther (Hutchins) Nation. He was raised in Pauls Valley and attended Pauls Valley schools and is a Pauls Valley High School graduate where he was on the Panther football team from 1952 to 1955.
After high school, he joined the United States Navy and served four years. After his discharge from the Navy, he lived and worked in Pauls Valley where he owned and operated the Pak-A-Way for many years.
After learning about men's clothing from a company in Dallas, Texas, he then began traveling, selling men's clothing all around the country. He retired in the mid-1990s and lived the remainder of his life in Dallas until moving back to his home in Pauls Valley four years ago where he passed away.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Esther Nation; his son and daughter, Greg Nation and Tracy Nation; and two brothers, Bobby Nation and Billy Nation.
Surviving family include his three grandchildren - Shannon Nation, Tyler Nation and Kelly Nation; one great-granddaughter, Haven Nation; three nephews - Danny Nation, Joe Nation and Gary Nation; and a niece, Doris Nation-Lee.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Don Griffin. A private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
