Jesse's Story

Jesse Utah Reeves went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his home after a brief illness at the age of 88 years. Jesse was born November 7, 1927 in Antioch, Oklahoma to Claud and Willie (Richardson) Reeves. Jesse married Lou Reeves July 8, 1950 in Clayton, New Mexico. Three children were born into this union - Steven DeWayne, Susan Elaine and Michael Utah. He was a lifetime resident of the Maysville area. Jesse worked many years in the oil field until retiring in 1990. He then worked for Burford Corporation as a night watchman, a delivery driver for O’Reilly Auto Parts and a driver for Seth Wadley Ford. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his coffee shop buddies, watching westerns on television and keeping his yard manicured. Survivors include his sons Steven Reeves of Sulphur and Michael Reeves and wife Marcie of Quanah, Texas; son-in-law Mike McKinzie of Pauls Valley; a sister, Bernyce Craig of Altus; brothers Billy Reeves and wife Pat of Chickasha and Gene Reeves and wife Cricket of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Stephanie and Matt Allen, Brandon and Marie McKinzie, Melissa Saunders, Krista Henson, Bradford and Lizzy Reeves, Ryan and Suzie Lynn, and Holley and Joe Munholland; great-grandchildren Matti and Addi Allen, Dayton and Cooper McKinzie, Nate and Kyli Saunders, Halli and Avery Henson and a baby boy to arrive October 2016, Cooper Lynn, Masey and Tenley Munholland; and a host of other family and friends. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lou, daughter Susan McKinzie, and one sister Vinita. Funeral services for Jesse will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Morey officiating.
