Jerod Glen Cornell of Lindsay, Oklahoma was born to Jerry and Myra (Bivins) Cornell on June 18, 1979 in Ada, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 37 years.
Jerod grew up in Elmore City, Oklahoma and graduated from Elmore City High School in 1997. During his school years FFA and sports were a very important part of his life and brought him much enjoyment. He later worked in the oil field. Jerod loved to fish and be with his family and friends.
Humility was a strength Jerod possessed. He had a carefree demeanor; his notion was "keep life simple." His love of fun and being ornery drew others to him like a magnet.
Jerod is survived by his wife, Ladonna Cornell of the home; daughters Kelsey and Kella; parents Myra and James Bebout; sister, Tonya Hines and husband Jason; grandmother, Norma Cornell; nephew, Jayden Hines; niece, Brinley Hines; aunts/uncles: Jeanette and Tom Bunch, Marilyn and Jeff Scroggins, Nelson and Patty Bivins, Russell and Janice Bivins; and a host of special cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cornell; grandfather, Glen Cornell; grandparents Homer and Iris Bivins; and uncles: Keith Cornell; Gary, Larry and Rance Bivins.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Elmore City, Oklahoma, officiated by Jimmy Balentine and Rev. Clay Hicks. Interment will follow at the Elmore City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
