Jean Boiles of Chickasha passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years.
Jean was born February 28, 1925 in Wainwright, Oklahoma to John Eddie and Lela Carnahan Guthrie. She grew up in Wainwright and earned valedictorian of her graduating class from Wainwright High School.
Jean Guthrie was married to Jim Boiles in Ada, Okla., on June 28, 1945. They moved to make Pauls Valley their home in 1950 and for the next 38 years owned and operated the Boiles Grocery here in Pauls Valley. Jean was a member of the Church of Christ.
Jim preceded her in death on December 4, 2003. For the past eight years she has lived closer to her family in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John Eddie and Lela Guthrie; an Aunt and Uncle, Lois and Vester Young; her husband, Jim Boiles; two sons, Jerry Boiles and Terry Boiles; one daughter, Debbie Pickett; one brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Neta Guthrie; one sister, Violet Lavon Guthrie; and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Schmidt.
She is survived by two sons and their wives - David and Vicki Boiles of Chickasha, and Brian and Karen Boiles of Oklahoma City; one daughter-in-law, Lydia Boiles of Clearwater, Florida; seven granddaughters - Misti Elam, Cari Adams, Jennifer McKeown, Brandi Thompson, Amanda Thompson Hitt, Jamie Boiles and Jasmin Tadlock; many great grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands - Mabel and Ira Boss, and Alice and Loyd Sutton; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bud Ross and Ron Blankinship.
