Text size

Imogene Gay Garland Lobaugh was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Bertha Gay and Benjamin Temple Garland on October 5, 1925. After graduation from Pauls Valley High School in 1943, she worked in Oklahoma City as a bookkeeper and a dance instructor. She returned to Pauls Valley where she met and married Ephraim Leon Lobaugh Sr. in 1950. They had two sons, Ephraim Lobaugh and Matthew Lobaugh (Pauls Valley), and two daughters, Zora Sampson (Pauls Valley) and Loretta Lobaugh (Madison, Wisconsin). Imogene later worked in Lawton, Okla., as a payroll programmer for the U.S. Army. She passed away March 15, 2016 at age 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sister Virginia and her brother Raymond. She is survived by her four children; two sons-in-law, Ken Sampson (Chickasha, OK) and Donald Schilmiller (Madison, WI); and three grandchildren - Aaron Sampson (La Jolla, CA) and Sarah Sampson (Rochester, NY) and Richmond Schilmiller (Madison, WI). Imogene loved dance, cats, quilting, opera, musicals and rock ‘n roll. She was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She would be honored (as she honored others) by placing a book in a library. At her request, no service is scheduled. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
