Hatsue's Story

Hatsue Watanubby Carpenter of Oklahoma City, formerly of Pauls Valley, passed away April 12, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years.
Hatsue was born September 27, 1930 in Kawasaki, Japan. She was raised in Japan and in 1965 was married to Donald Ray Carpenter while he was serving in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years service. They moved to Pauls Valley where they lived for about 15 years, and later moved to make their home in Oklahoma City for over 20 years.
Hatsue was very loving and caring bringing great joy to her family and to those who knew her. She loved to keep her house as well as her garden immaculate. She was a wonderful example to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her loving husband, Donald Ray Carpenter.
Surviving family include one brother-in-law and his wife, Roger and Doris Carpenter of Oklahoma City; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Stropes of Perkins, and Tretha Carpenter of Paoli; as well as a host of very special nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Pavilion, officiated by Rev. Charles Dean.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
