Harold's Story

Harold DeLayne "Lane" Smith of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to James Dow and Bonnie L. (Graves) Smith in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and passed from this life on March 2, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years.
Lane grew up and attended school in Elmore City, Oklahoma. He attended college at Murray State, East Central and graduated from O.S.U. with a degree in engineering. Lane worked in the oil field for many years in offshore drilling and as a mud engineer. In his spare time, he enjoyed rodeos, leatherwork, fishing, hunting and his horses.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; 2 sons - Jason Smith and wife Miriam of Elmore City, Oklahoma, and Stephen Smith and wife Debbie of Tampa, Florida; 2 daughters - Toni Lee Ramski of Seymour, Texas, and Carrie Ann Rose of Casper, Wyoming; brother, Mickey Smith and Cara Madison of Tyler, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bonnie Smith, and brother, Geary Ross Smith.
Memorial services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Mt. View Full Gospel Church in Foster, Oklahoma with Bro. Ron Martin officiating. Services were under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
