Dorothy L. "Dottie" Kinslow of Pauls Valley passed away April 16, 2017 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years.
Dottie was born March 22, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ralph Earl and Lillian Mae (Morton) Snider. She graduated high school in Kansas City, Missouri and later attended college in San Diego, California.
During World War II she worked as one of the many "Rosie the Riveter" in the ship yards and factories of San Diego.
She met and fell in love with her lifelong friend and husband Eugene V. "Gene" Kinslow and they were married on March 2, 1942 in San Diego just before Gene was shipped out to fight in the war.
Dottie was the owner/operator of the Tel-Star Drive Inn in Pauls Valley and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. You never had to ask Dottie about her children or grandchildren. She would tell you all about them. Where they were and what they were doing, their birthdays and ages.
After her husband's passing in 1991, Dottie traveled with her friends. She saw the sights and loved to go to the casinos. She could play the penny slots all night long. She never won a lot of money but could have the time of her life playing them. She also loved her coffee, she could drink it anytime of day or night.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Earl and Lillian Mae Snider; her husband, Eugene V "Gene" Kinslow; one son, Larry Travis Kinslow; all of her siblings, of which she was the eldest: Junior, Margie, Betty, Eugene, and Janet.
Dottie is survived by her son Eugene V. "Butch" Kinslow and wife Kathy; her daughter Sharon A. (Kinslow) Pender; grandchildren Randy Pender, Sherry (Pender) White and husband Joe, Larry Kinslow and Kari (Kinslow) Bryant and husband Jason; and great-grandchildren Jarred Bratcher, Jordan Bryant, Kelsey Pender, J.D.
