Cleta's Story

Cleta M. McCann, a resident of Newcastle, formerly Wynnewood, Okla., was born on March 8, 1922 in Elmore City, Okla., to Eula Alma (Burton) Graves and George Houston Graves. She passed away in Newcastle on March 12, 2018 at the age of 96 years and 4 days.
Cleta married Earl Maurice McCann on November 9, 1941 at the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood, Okla. She had spent her life as a homemaker and most of her life was spent in Garvin County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl on December 9, 1990; brothers, Roy and Glen Graves; son Michael Shawn McCann; grandson Robert Earl McCann; son-in-law Jimmy Lee Nelms, and 3 nephews.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ann Nelms of Newcastle, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Rhonda McCann of Davis, Okla.; grandsons - Jamie and wife Dawnetta Nelms of Newcastle, Billy Joe and wife Amber McCann of Newcastle, and Michael McCann of Wynnewood; granddaughters - Tiffany Potts of Plano, Texas, Robyn and husband Chris Zike of McAlester, Okla., Ronni and husband Jeremy Burch of Davis, and Stephanie Trogdon of Flint, Mi.; 3 nieces, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday March 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood, Okla., officiated by Rev. Jarrod Kendall with burial following at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.
