Bobby's Story

Bobby Ray "Rusty" Proctor of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to William R. and Agnes (Taylor) Proctor on November 11, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri and passed from this life on November 5, 2016 in Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.
Rusty grew up and attended school in Kansas City, Missouri. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Korea and Vietnam War.
On June 25, 1954, Rusty married Jerry Marion Griffin in El Paso, Texas. Together they lived in many places while Rusty was in the military. He retired from Bergstron Air Force Base in December of 1975 as a Senior Master Sergeant.
Rusty was a member of Elmore Lodge #533, Valley Lodge #6 and Wynnewood Lodge #40. Rusty was also an India Shriner. He was also a member of the Elmore City First Baptist Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed western movies. The highlights of his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rusty is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jerry Proctor of Elmore City, Oklahoma; son, Terry Proctor and wife Leigh Ann of Austin, Texas; 2 daughters: Alice Denton and husband Paul of Georgetown, Texas, and Nancy Schickram and husband David of Elmore City, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren: Rachel, Megan, Sara, Sean, Dusky, Donovan, Dustin, Daysee and J.J.; and a host of great-grandchildren.
Rusty was preceded in death by his son Bobby Ray Proctor, his parents William and Agnes Proctor, 15 brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Elmore City First Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Reed officiating. Interment was in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
