Bobby Hershel Dobbins of Pauls Valley passed away October 12, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years.
Bobby was born September 17, 1940 at home in the McCarty community near Elmore City, Oklahoma to Pleasant Weldon and Ann Ellon (Couch) Dobbins.
He attended the McCarty School. In his younger years in the summer he worked as a hay hauler with his father and brother-in-law; in the winter he worked for 17 years for Valley Feed Mill.
On November 8, 1960, he and Shirley M. Brown were married in the Pauls Valley First Assembly of God Church. They were blessed with four children.
He later began working for Garvin County District 2 as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. After retirement, he put in a wood yard supply and supplied wood for barbecue places in the area.
Bobby loved his family and greatly enjoyed being outdoors including especially hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pleasant and Ellon Dobbins; 3 brothers - Roy, George and Jody Dobbins; and 2 sisters, Pauline Huffman and Lorene Hadley.
Surviving family include his wife of over 55 years, Shirley of the home; four children - Hershel Dobbins and his wife Ginger, Bobby Ray Dobbins, Gary Dobbins and his wife Laura, and Angela Campbell, all of Pauls Valley; five grandchildren - Danyalle Dobbins, Kalea Dobbins, Jessica Dobbins, Morgan Dobbins and Riley Cogburn; three great-grandchildren - Landyn Dobbins, Kairi Dobbins and David Gatica; three sisters - Jane Ingram and husband Bob of Pauls Valley, and Wanda Wickware and Gracie Evans, both of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Richard Dobbins of Norman and Dale Dobbins and wife Annette of Pauls Valley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Henry Rush Jr. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
