Billie Joe Minnick of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Homer and Eula (Mobley) Minnick on February 15, 1943 in Clemscott, Oklahoma and passed from this life on January 3, 2017 at his home near Antioch, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.
Pa Pa Joe grew up and attended school at Woodland. He later played football and graduated from Pernell High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army. After his service, he returned home to care for his parents.
On October 27, 1967, Joe married Evelyn Jean Roller in Gainesville, Texas. He worked in the oil field as a driller for many years, retiring at the age of 62. In his spare time Joe enjoyed raising cattle, being outdoors, gardening, and raising bird dogs. Joe loved his family and friends.
Mr. Minnick is survived by his son, Rickey Beene of Elmore City, Oklahoma; daughter, Bennie Kay Stewart of Maysville, Oklahoma; 2 sisters: Maxine Swanda of Davis, Oklahoma, and Kay Courtney of Elmore City, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Mr. Minnick was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Jean Minnick on December 29, 2016; daughter Bonnie Jo Beene; parents Homer and Eula Minnick; 5 brothers: Quinton, Edward, Manuel, Richard, and Homer "Radar" Ray Minnick; and 3 sisters: Wanda Golson, Marsha Simms, and Shirley Phillips.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Danny Gamble officiating.
