Betty Jo Allison of Katie, Oklahoma was born to Adolph and Lessie (Fore) Wright on November 24, 1934 in Elmore City, Oklahoma and passed from this life on March 29, 2017 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years.
Betty grew up and attended school in Wilson, Oklahoma. On September 8, 1951, Betty married David Allison. Together they made their home in Wilson. They later moved to Elmore City, Oklahoma which has been her home for the past 56 years.
Betty was a past member of Katie Missionary Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Hennepin Baptist Church.
The highlights of her life were her kids and grandchildren. Betty loved doing for others and giving of herself. She always said no one had kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and in-laws like she did. If they wanted to play, she played with them. If they wanted to be serious, she was that to. They always stood by her.
Her church was very important to her and also a lot of close friends. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Mrs. Allison is survived by her son: Jackie Joe Allison and wife Renee of Red Oak, Oklahoma; daughter: Rhonda Kaye Schafer and husband Larry of Hennessey, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law: Debbie Allison of Hennepin, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Evelyn Wright, Frances Wright, and Sue Wright.
Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her husband, David Charles Allison in 2013; son, Charles Lee Allison in 2010; parents Adolph and Lessie Wright; 4 brothers: O'Hara Wright, Billy Wright, Bobby Wright, and Jerry Wright; and 1 sister, Franses Manas,
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Hennepin Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Sims officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. in the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson, Oklahoma under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
