Memorial services for Barbara Jean Lester, 64 years of age, of Pauls Valley will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Hammond Heights Church of Christ in Ada, Okla. Pastor Richard Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery in Ada.
Barbara was born October 2, 1953 in Ada to Paul Allen Black and Wilma Jean Brown. Mrs. Lester passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Edmond, Okla.
She married Deannie Kuren Lester on August 14, 1970, and they were affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Barbara was a longtime employee of the Dietary Department of Pauls Valley General Hospital. She also worked for the Presbyterian Church and until her retirement, earlier this year, she was an employee of the Pauls Valley Care Center.
Survivors include her husband, Deannie Lester of the home; four daughters - Shalonda Garcia and husband Larry of Lubbock, Texas, Carmella Coburn and husband Dante of Bethany, Okla., Dana Lester and Janise "Mimi" Lester, both of Ada, Okla.; her grandchildren - Ky Lester, Kree Lester, Gabrielle Garcia, Kayton Lester, Tralor Lester, Elijah Lester, Emira Warrior, Air-eauna Warrior, Isabella Miller, Koreyion Coburn; great-grandchildren - McKinna Reno, Ne'Taya Grant and Triton Lester; brothers Dwight Black and wife Vala of Ada, and Wade Wright of Pauls Valley; and sisters Sherry Black, Bessie Osborne and her husband Harold, all of Ada, and Ann Black of Suitland, Md.
Barbara had many other loving relatives and friends.
Her parents; a brother, Warren Black; and sisters Lillie Heath and Jewel Black preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Ky Lester, Jared Lester, Eric Black, John Black, Charles Heath and Charles Heath Jr.
Flower bearers will be Delana Yousuf, Miracle Black, LaRaiah Black and Tomaro Heath.
