Arnold's Story

Arnold Naman Busey of Pernell, Oklahoma was born to Roy G. and Mattie (Coffey) Busey on October 10, 1924 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and passed from this life on October 13, 2016 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years.
Naman grew up and attended school at Pernell, Oklahoma. He owned and operated Busey Oil Co. and farmed and ranched most of his life.
On September 29, 1990, he married Deanna Merritt-Abrams in Pernell.
Naman was the founder and president of the Pernell Round Up Club. He also served on the Pernell School Board for many years and was a member of the Church of Christ in Pernell. In his spare time he enjoyed bluegrass music, puzzles, and RFD TV. Children loved Naman and the highlight of his life was his family.
Mr. Busey is survived by his wife, Deanna of the home; 4 sons: David Busey and wife Cindy of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Jim Busey of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Rusty Abrams and wife Alane of Durant, Oklahoma, and Bob Abrams of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Terry Lynn Henderson of Durant, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 13 -great-grandchildren.
Mr. Busey was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mattie Busey; 3 brothers: Roy Lee, Vernon and R.T.; 2 sisters, Olene Moore and Bonnie Patterson; and daughter-in-law, Kay (Conner) Busey.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Elmore City, Oklahoma with Rusty Abrams and Jimmy Balentine officiating. Interment will be in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
